Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stressed his desire to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club.
The England international has recently attracted interest from Chelsea, who are prepared to offer a £35m package in order to lure him from the Emirates.Wenger has remained coy over the attacker’s situation in recent days, but he has now revealed his intention of keeping Oxlade-Chamberlain for the long-term, although his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I rate him highly and he’s one of the players who is on his way up. In the last year, he has made huge progress and I want him to stay here for a long time. I’m convinced he will be the English player that everybody will look at in the next two years,” he said.
Meanwhile, the long-standing manager also has plans for injury-plagued midfielder Jack Wilshere, who he has tipped to stay for the final year of his contract, he added: “At the moment, yes. German player, Lukas Podolski will bow out after partaking in the Euro tournament in France 2016. The Galatasaray right man striker has played for the German team for more than a decade now and now set to retire, especially with the competitive talents that are available for the German team.
The 30-year old forward made his debut for Germany in 2004 and has 127 caps under his belt. This current European campaign would be his fourth for the German team. The forward was part of the German wining team that disgraced hosts, Brazil to lift the world Cup in Rio de Janeiro. He only played during the group stages and has not had a starting position since Euro 2012 due to his poor run.

After having joined Inter Milan back in March of 2014, NemanjaVidic has left the Italian club. Injuries forced Vidic on having to stay in the sidelines for a considerably long period of time, Vidic was not even able to make a single appearance for Inter Milan in this season and a few days ago it was announced to the public that the veteran defender is now a free agent.

The 34 year old Serbian defender is now searching for a new club to join and this club might be his last one considering his elevated age. It was only 4 days ago since Vidic became a free agent but there are already rumors going on regarding which club he is going to join next and these rumors are linking him with the MLS.
The new season of the MLS kicks off in March and there are plenty of American clubs that are interested in adding new players, this turns NemanjaVidic into an attractive winter target for many clubs in the Major League Soccer who are interested in upgrading their respective squads. Lukas Podolski did not play an important role in Arsenal and was sold to Galatasaray for a transfer fee of €1.8 million which is actually a good decision for him as he now has a bigger and better chance to play in the main team of a club which would not have happened anytime soon if he had decided to remain with Arsenal but Per Mertesacker does not seem to agree with this transaction.
The vice-captain of Arsenal, Per Mertesacker announced his disappointment to the media about the departure of Lukas Podolski as the German defender was not happy to see his former national teammate leaving Arsenal.
Per Mertesacker said: “It is a shame to lose Lukas as a team-mate. His left foot is a weapon which I did not see with many players. On his day, he can still make the difference. I wish him good luck in Turkey.”
Before eventually deciding to join Galatasaray, Podolski tried his luck in Italy as he made a move to Inter Milan on a loan deal but it was an underwhelming period of time for the German forward as he made 17 appearances and only scored 1 goal. Lukas Podolski is out of favor with Arsenal as the German attacker is not a consistent player under the guidance of Arsene Wenger and he was rumored of being on his way of making a move to Turkey and join Galatasaray but it seems like the transfer will not occur as the Turkish team is no longer interested in signing the 30 year old German player.
For a transfer fee in the region of €9 million, Podolski was expected to make a move from Arsenal and enter the Turkish lands of Galatasaray but the club which performs in the Super Lig pulled away from the transfer before it could be completed.
HamzaHamzaougle is the manager of Galatasaray and he admitted in saying that they were interested in signing Podolski during the previous winter transfer window but his team has lost their interest.
Hamzaougle said: “Podolski is not on our radar right now. He was in the winter but not right now.”
When Inter Milan agreed to sign Lukas Podolski on a loan deal, the Italian side had the option to extend that loan deal into a permanent deal but since Podolski never really managed to stand out during his time with the Italian side and the German player had to return to Arsenal. Bayern Munich have been suffering a lot in terms of injuries over the last few weeks and this has culminated into manager Pep Guardiola having only 16 fit players for the upcoming match against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal quarter-final clash.
The matches played away from home and this only compounds the misery for Bayern, who remain in hunt for three major honours this season. A quarter-final clash against Porto in the Champions League is not too far away and Guardiola was always not going to risk his players for this match. Bayern have been developing a strong tradition in this tournament after having won it in the last two seasons.
Guardiola will be aiming for a third consecutive success but his team will have to do without a number of regular stars like Schweinsteiger. Top individuals like Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, and Javi Martinez are some of the players currently unavailable. This means that Guardiola will have to rely upon names like Mario Gotze. Lukas Podolski has said that he is almost certain to be playing at Arsenal next season, thus dismissing any rumours that his move to Inter Milan is on a permanent basis. The German international has struggled for game time at Arsenal.
This led to the move to the Italian outfit, who signed him on a loan deal. Since his move, Podolski is yet to open his account in the league. He has already featured in eight matches since the move. Once a player towards the end of his career moves on a loan spell, it is assumed that he has gone for pastures new.
Podolski says that it is not the case since he will return to Arsenal once his loan spell comes to an end at the end of the campaign.
