LUKAS PODOLSKI RUBBISHES CHINESE SUPER LEAGUE

German football star Lukas Podolski opines that the Chinese Super League would never join the elite leagues in the world due to the activities that happen behind the scenes.

The player was believed would join a Chinese Super League side and feature for a year or two before he calls time on his career. However, after exiting Turkish side Galatasaray the World Cup winner opted to move to Japan.

Podolski recently moved to J-League side Vissel Kobe on a two year deal. He would receive around €10 million annually for his services. He admits that he could have made more money had he agreed to a move to China but adds that he did not like the way business was handled there.

“Sure, it’s tempting to hear you could earn €15 million to €20 million in China, but the way of negotiating – with eight, nine agents sometimes interfering in the ends, it will be significantly less given all the dark channels involved,” the player revealed. PODOLSKI SCORES AS GERMANY DEFEATS ENGLAND

Lukas Podolski was the star man as the German machines defeated the Three Lions 1-0 in an international friendly.

This means the former Gunner would end his international career on a spectacular note.

The striker earned his 130th cap as the Germans lined up against Gareth Southgate’s men. The 31-year old player grabbed the match-winning strike that ends Southgate’s unbeaten run – one of the things that earned his confirmation as the substantive manager of the team.

England were decent; Leicester’s Jamie Vardy disturbed the German defence, Adam Lallana showed some promise of the form that helped him surge few months ago and Eric Dier was quite impressive. Continue reading PODOLSKI SCORES AS GERMANY DEFEATS ENGLAND

Podolski Calls for Schweinsteiger’s Return to Arrest Manchester United’s Slide

Former Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has spoken in the past about the situation faced by Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Despite being acknowledged as one of the best midfielders in the world, he has been frozen out of the first team by manager José Mourinho immediately upon his arrival at Old Trafford. The two parties have not exactly revealed the reason for the animosity. As one of the top earners at United, Mourinho was expecting to sell Schweinsteiger in order to free up funds for new players. After having arrived at Old Trafford only a year ago, Schweinsteiger seems to have decided against the move.

Mourinho has stuck to his plan of not having Schweinsteiger in the squad, and the player has been training on for the last couple of months. Even though it is highly anticipated that a move will eventually happen in the January transfer window, there have been calls for the player to be included in the first-team. Per Mertesacker is not happy about Podolski’s departure from Arsenal

Lukas Podolski did not play an important role in Arsenal and was sold to Galatasaray for a transfer fee of €1.8 million which is actually a good decision for him as he now has a bigger and better chance to play in the main team of a club which would not have happened anytime soon if he had decided to remain with Arsenal but Per Mertesacker does not seem to agree with this transaction.

The vice-captain of Arsenal, Per Mertesacker announced his disappointment to the media about the departure of Lukas Podolski as the German defender was not happy to see his former national teammate leaving Arsenal.

Per Mertesacker said: “It is a shame to lose Lukas as a team-mate. His left foot is a weapon which I did not see with many players. On his day, he can still make the difference. I wish him good luck in Turkey.”

Before eventually deciding to join Galatasaray, Podolski tried his luck in Italy as he made a move to Inter Milan on a loan deal but it was an underwhelming period of time for the German forward as he made 17 appearances and only scored 1 goal. Lukas Podolski Is All Set To Score For Arsenal

Lukas wants to make a striking return for Arsenal in the current season. The subject of speculation for the future of Germany is going through the entire week. He proved to be the real winner as Arsenal did beat Anderlecht in the outing of Champions League.

Being 29 years old he is determined for improvisation of his strike rate when they will be up for the clash with Gunners. For Podolski, Champions League is a different cup altogether. His performance in the competition in the previous season is good and based on that it is rated that he is doing it really well. The games are special and it is played under the lights. He wants to score in the Champions league and as well as in the Premier League. He is happy to be back with scoring goals and more so when it fetches you three points.

It is his dream to score for Premier League this season. He is waiting to get a start in the upcoming season. He was bought in as substitute and just for 11 minutes which made him reach to the score of 3-0 with a win. He put all that he had into the game. He showed his frustration by posting it on instagram that he will continue to fight till time comes. He would have definitely scored more but it was not his luck. It is hoped that in the future matches he is going to do well.

ARSENAL FIRED UP

Arsenal are looking to get their first win at White Hart Lane since 2007 and Lukas Podolski has said that he is all fired up to help the club achieve exactly that. The striker scored in the 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich at the Allianz arena. Even though it did not help Arsenal qualify for the quarter-finals, it certainly helped restore some of the pride after losing the first leg 2-0. Podolski managed to score the goal from out of nothing against his former club. This was his first since the start of the season, although he has been out injured for most of this period.

Arsenal will be coming up against Tottenham team that lost 4-0 to Chelsea last weekend. Tim Sherwood was especially critical of his players after the match and he is expected to get a reaction from them in this crucial match. Tottenham have not certainly prepared well for this encounter after losing the midweek Europa league clash with Benfica. Podolski has stated that three points is the need of the hour for Arsenal since they need to stay in touch with Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the table.

Chelsea will be visiting Villa Park to play Aston Villa, while Liverpool will be at Old Trafford to play against Manchester United.

“I’ve always liked derbies. When I played in Munich, or Cologne or even here in Arsenal I always liked derbies because there’s a special atmosphere and it’s a special fight. We want to go there, get the three points and drive back home. This is important for us. We must fight for the club, for the fans and I think this is an important game so I look forward to Sunday now. It’s always special when you score a goal,” said the striker ahead of the match.
