Lukas Podolski has said that he is almost certain to be playing at Arsenal next season, thus dismissing any rumours that his move to Inter Milan is on a permanent basis. The German international has struggled for game time at Arsenal.
This led to the move to the Italian outfit, who signed him on a loan deal. Since his move, Podolski is yet to open his account in the league. He has already featured in eight matches since the move. Once a player towards the end of his career moves on a loan spell, it is assumed that he has gone for pastures new.
Podolski says that it is not the case since he will return to Arsenal once his loan spell comes to an end at the end of the campaign. He has rejected suggestions that he does not get along well with Arsene Wenger. Podolski was seen complaining a lot about Arsenal after his move to Inter. The German has clarified the situation by saying that he was not happy with Arsenal not providing any farewell words after the deal was announced. Lukas Podolski played a starring role in Inter Milan getting their first win since the season resumed on January 7. The former Arsenal striker started and played the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 victory over Genoa.
This was yet another positive result for Inter manager Roberto Mancini, who was appointed just before the winter break as the replacement for Walter Mazzarri. Mancini’s arrival did not immediately result in an upturn in results, but the club have been active in this January transfer window. Podolski is one important names to have been signed on an initial loan deal, which is expected to be converted into a permanent deal come the summer.
The German international is capable of providing a lot of versatility to Inter and this seems to have been one of the characteristics that the Italian outfit were very keen on having in the squad. Lukas wants to make a striking return for Arsenal in the current season. The subject of speculation for the future of Germany is going through the entire week. He proved to be the real winner as Arsenal did beat Anderlecht in the outing of Champions League.
Being 29 years old he is determined for improvisation of his strike rate when they will be up for the clash with Gunners. For Podolski, Champions League is a different cup altogether.
