It seems that Lukas Podolski move to Arsenal has not been confirmed after all. This shock news comes to the Arsenal fans after it has been reported that Italian club Lazio are looking at the possibility of signing Lukas Podolski in the summer. They have begun talks with the former Bayern Munich striker, who has grown increasingly frustrated of life at Cologne. Even though it was Lukas Podolski who insisted upon moving to Cologne, the striker has grown desperate to win more trophies. As a result, it is thought that Lukas Podolski agreed a £ 10.1 million move to Arsenal in the summer, but Arsene Wenger refused to acknowledge the fact that everything had been done and dusted, even if he admitted that he wanted to play Podolski with youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain next seaosn.

Many believe that Arsene Wenger was downplaying the fact that they had signed for the best strikers in Europe, but it seems that they have indeed not. This news comes after last year have confirmed that they are currently holding talks with Lukas Podolski over a potential transfer. They have also expressed confidence that Podolski will have the courage to snub Arsenal over the potential Italian move. Lazio are currently third in the Italian Serie A and will be able to offer the prospect of Champions League football next season.

“Contrary to reports from the past few days, nothing has been decided yet. If there is something to report, then I’ll do it. It would be great to play alongside him again, Miro has spoken well of Lazio and he’s happy in Rome. My future has yet to be decided,” Lukas Podolski said in a recent interview. One of the big factors towards Podolski moving to Italy would be the presence of former Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose, with whom Podolski is known to share are good bond.
